In my day to day walk with the Lord I often find myself humming or even singing a song that verbalizes the state I am in. Whether a state of praise, surrender, pain, happiness, or looking for His will. Here are a few that I feel have wonderful messages and can be nearly, but not as, encouraging as Scripture.
Yield Not to Temptation
Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin, each vict'ry will help you some other to win;
Fight manfully onward, dark passions subdue, look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.
Shun evil companions, bad language disdain, God's name hold in rev'rence, nor take it in vain;
Be thoughtful and earnest, kind-hearted and true, look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.
To him that o'er-cometh, God giveth a crown, through faith we shall conquer, though often cast down;
He who is our Saviour, our strenth will renew, look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through

It Is Well

Though Satan should buffet, tho' trials should come, let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and hath shed His own blood for my soul.
My sin - O the bliss of this glorious though - My sin - not in part but the whole -
Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul.
And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll,
The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend, "Even so" - it is well with my soul.

Blessed Assurance
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine, O what a foretaste of glory divine!

I Surrender All
