We read it in books...we hear it in the movies...and it sounds so beautiful.... "I can't live without you. Without you, life isn't worth living. I choose you because my life didn't start until I met you." I realize these are true to a degree for those who do marry but....the full truth is you can live without them. Your life is full of worth whether or not they're in it. And, while a new phase of life does start at the point of marriage, your life starts at the point that Jesus becomes Lord of your life. No, it doesn't always feel good. Sometimes it hurts. But our feelings lie to us. And sometimes we have to choose truth over our feelings and wait for our feelings to follow. Because the truth is, the only person the above statements are true about is Jesus Christ. Without Him, I can't live. Without Him, my life is worthless motions. My life begins and ends in Him.
I can live without anyone else. It is physically possible. But I can't. CAN'T. live without Him. So the next time you're watching that movie or show or reading that book where the man and woman are embracing and declaring their undying love for one another and you begin to think, "Where's my someone?" or "Maybe I can't live without so-and-so...", just remember that you already have the One person that you can't live without. And then go talk to Him...cuz He's crazy about you.
"Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." Jeremiah 31:3
"...for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5
"I will love them freely..." Hosea 14:4
"For in him we live, and move, and have our being." Acts 17:28
